Esport Tournament
« ” The registration platform and the tournament mode allowed a participation beyond our expectations. In total, 8 countries could take part in the games. “ »
Guillaume Tostivint Cofondateur UrbanGamingRequirement
Each year, the Cofidis group organises a face-to-face sports tournament bringing together a number of employees from different countries. The sporting dimension is part of the group’s DNA: the sponsorship of a cycling team to represent the group is an illustration of this. Given the pandemic, the client wanted to rethink the event and make it virtual but more inclusive as well
Idea
A remote tournament platform including
registration as SOLO (1 participant) or DUO (2 participants) mode
– Management of the team, the name, the language
– The game element with quizzes on 10 sports and 10 associated retro-games.
– The setting up and running of events throughout the week of the tournament
– Translation into 7 languages to promote inclusion of the group’s countries
– The idea of this virtual tournament was innovative in its diversity (game-based, collective, competitive, pace) and unprecedented in the context.
– Tailored communication, consistent project management and support throughout the week were set up in advance to ensure successful deployment.
Goals
The project, called eSportsTrophy, was intended to represent the different entities of the group.
It last one week and alternate between sporting and cultural competitive events.
The structure of a virtual tournament met these aims.
